Announcements And Trailers From Disney and Marvel’s Games Showcase

The just concluded Disney and Marvel Games Showcase at D23 was jam-packed with news and announcements about games from the many assets of the entertainment company. The conference featured a tonne of video game trailers, both for titles that are now in stores (like Disney Dreamlight Valley) and others that will be out soon.

The Disney and Marvel game showcase was shown during the DisneyD23 festival, a celebration of all things Disney and Marvel. Only a few days after the early access launch of Disney Dreamlight Valley, too! They are lavishing money on us. Here are the specifics of everything that happened.

Marvel's Midnight Suns

A first gameplay trailer introducing the fighting card system was made available on September 1, 2021.  Jake Solomon is the director of Midnight Suns. It was revealed in November 2021 that the game had been postponed until the second half of 2022. The game was relaunched in June 2022 at Summer Game Fest with new footage, confirmation of the October 7, 2022 release date for all platforms save Nintendo Switch, and the addition of Venom, Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man to the cast of characters. The game's release date for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S versions was further postponed until the next year on August 8, 2022, with Take-Two Interactive's subsequent fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, as of that day.

Marvel's Midnight Suns will arrive on December 2 for Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, with launch dates for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch to be announced at a later time, according to a new gameplay trailer posted by 2K and Marvel Entertainment.

Marvel's Midnight Suns Prequel Shorts were also made public; they are a collection of five brief videos that explain how Lilith came to be known as the Mother of Demons and how youthful Midnight Suns members Nico Minoru, Blade, Magik, and Ghost Rider came together. On October 31, 2022, the first video will debut on the Marvel Entertainment YouTube channel. Thereafter, new videos will be produced on a weekly basis.

Strike Force By Marvel

Red Hulk will charge straight into MARVEL Strike Force on Tuesday, September 13. Red Hulk fights Abomination in a new MARVEL Strike Force trailer, and he doesn't seem too happy when Hulk, She-Hulk, and Brawn show up to join the fight. Before smashing Abomination into an oil truck and throwing them aside, he causes an explosion that sends him hurtling across the desert. Apocalypse is standing in front of him when he lands, and when he extends a hand to Red Hulk, he does it with a smile.

It is real! Red Hulk will take on the role of Apocalypse's new Horseman of War after he joins MARVEL Strike Force. On September 13, Red Hulk will make his MARVEL Strike Force debut.

Marvel's Midnight Release Date

Disney announced the upcoming strategy game Marvel's Midnight Suns and its release date. The game was made by Firaxis Games. On December 2, 2022, Midnight Suns will finally be released on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 after being delayed earlier this year. Midnight Suns will be made available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch at a later time. Marvel's Midnight Suns now have a revised release date for new-gen consoles and PC on December 2, 2022, following an indefinite delay.

Unfortunately, there is no release date for the Switch version. Marvel's Midnight Suns will receive prequel shorts starting on October 31 that are a "series of five short videos that provide backstory on the genesis of the young core of the Midnight Suns," it was announced alongside the release date information.

Gameplay Midnight marvel

Players will assume control of "The Hunter," a programmable superhero developed by Firaxis Games and Marvel just for Midnight Suns. Iron Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Blade, Ghost Rider, Magik, and Nico Minoru are among the playable characters. The Hunter's appearance can be altered and can be either masculine or female.

The Hunter's superpowers can be selected from more than 40 different talents by players. The Hunter is one of 13 different heroes in the game. Similar to the XCOM series from Firaxis Games, combat will be turn-based. Players will be in charge of their upgradeable base of operations named "The Abbey" between combat missions. They can explore the area in the third person while interacting with other heroes.

The gameplay and the skills of such heroes will be influenced by role-playing features like character interaction. Players will be given the option to pick one of three heroes to accompany them into battle at the beginning of each new mission. They are only allowed to use a deck of randomly selected ability cards during the assignment. In order to fight opponents, those skills will either have an impact on the environment, the player's own heroes, or both.

Skydance/Marvel New Media Project

New information was released by Skydance New Media and Marvel Entertainment about their next narrative-driven, team-based adventure game set in the Marvel Universe and directed by award-winning writer and director Amy Hennig. The game's original plot will transport players to a WWII-era adventure with four playable protagonists at various times in the narrative. It is the first project from the new AAA game firm.

Players will be able to take on the roles of a cast of four characters as the story of the game develops a young Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America; Azzuri, T'Challa's great-grandfather and the Black Panther during World War II; Gabriel Jones, a US soldier and member of the Howling Commandos; and Nanali, the head of the developing Wakandan Spy Network. As they traverse this brand-new cross-country adventure, players can expect simple controls and intense second-to-second gameplay that encapsulates the action and excitement of Marvel, inspired by iconic comics, television, and films.

Mighty Marvel World Of Heroes

With MARVEL World of Heroes, a new mobile game debuting in 2023, Niantic and Marvel Entertainment invite you to join the Marvel Universe. Players in MARVEL World of Heroes can team up with their favorite Marvel heroes in the real world by creating their own Super Hero identity using the AR mobile experience. Three players adopt the powers of Thor, Doctor Strange, and Cyclops in a new game video to stop an impending threat, giving players a preview of the coming abilities.

Conclusion

The video game subsidiary of Marvel Entertainment, Marvel Games is the publishing name for video games based on Marvel properties. Before the establishment of Marvel Games, video games based on Marvel properties that were released between 1982 and 1985 were handled by Marvel Comics Group, while those that were released between 1986 and 1998 were handled by Marvel Entertainment Group. Prior to the establishment of Marvel Games, Marvel Enterprises handled all video games based on Marvel properties.

Disney shut down Disney Interactive Studios, ending their interactive media company as a first-party developer and publisher, choosing to license their intellectual properties for video games as a replacement. This led to the revival of the Marvel Games brand. Marvel Games has been engaged in publishing ever since.
